I love taking portraits--I love the challenge of trying to capture a glimpse of character and personality in a single image.

For me, photography is an opportunity to capture today--to freeze the moment before it changes. Each of us is changing, and I make it my job to document what happened today. Today might be the day his first tooth fell out, the day she turned five, the day the whole family was together, or the day before the baby was born.

Most of my current work involves capturing the many changes of pregnancy, infants, children and families.

Infancy is so fleeting...babies change faster than any of us. I help families document the changes in pictures so that they can look back in a month, a year, five years, and say, "Wow, look how much he's grown!"

Childhood is such a special time...and definitely a time of growth and change. I love the challenge of capturing the spirit of a child with a portrait that reflects his true nature. Here are some of the beautiful "spirits" that I have had the pleasure of working with.

Teens/High School Seniors slide show (85)
There is such a great opportunity here, photographing these teens as they reach toward adulthood. As I now have one teenage son and one on the brink, shooting this age group has taken on new meaning for me.
